EATING DISORDER TREATMENT
FOR ADULTS

I provide specialised eating disorder treatment for adults in Brisbane and via telehealth across Australia (click here for information about adolescent eating disorder treatment). I support people experiencing Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, and other eating difficulties, whether you are seeking therapy for the first time or have previously engaged in treatment without achieving lasting change. In my experience, challenges with eating, weight, and body image often reflect deeper emotional concerns. My work focuses on helping people stabilise their eating habits while also exploring the underlying patterns driving those behaviours. I aim to provide a supportive, collaborative space where recovery feels possible and meaningful.

I am trained in Focal Psychodynamic Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (FPT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM). While I draw from these evidence-based treatments, my work is always grounded in relational psychodynamic theory. This means I am interested in understanding how past and present relationships, life experiences, and emotional patterns shape who you are and how you feel. Rather than focusing solely on eating disorder symptoms or behaviours, I take a person-focused approach, working to understand your unique story, strengths, and the role that eating difficulties may be playing in your life.

As a therapist, I try to bring patience, honesty, and warmth into the room. I’m very comfortable working with people who feel ambivalent about recovery, unsure about therapy, or who have previously found treatment difficult to engage with. While eating disorder treatment can involve really challenging work, I also think therapy should feel human and genuine, and that there is often space for humour along the way. Together, we can find a way of working on your eating difficulties that feels manageable, realistic, and suited to you, while also making sense of the emotional and relational factors that may be contributing to things feeling hard.

If you’re considering support or would like to see whether working together feels like a good fit, you are welcome to get in touch.
